Our "baby" girl turned 2 years old on Friday, April 22nd (Earth Day and Good Friday). Unfortunately, we were not blessed with the same gorgeous weather we had last year, and so we had to be creative in coming up with some fun activities for her to do on the big day. And so we invited Grammy Bev and Papa Daryl to breakfast with us at Frieda's Cafe (a small diner in downtown Willmar that every local must visit - it's very inexpensive and has some excellent food!). Ellie particularly enjoyed the shortstack pancakes and hashbrowns.
After breakfast, we headed on over to the YMCA to take our little waterbug swimming. Grammy, Papa, and Daddy were at Ellie's beck and call in the pool and she relished all the attention! She had a wonderful time and Nick and I realized that we may need to get a membership at the Y sooner than we had thought for access to the pool for this little girl. :) Lunch, naptime, a video and snack, opening a few presents, dinner out at Grizzley's as a family (our first time out to eat as just the four of us!), and bathtime were what the rest of Ellie's day consisted of. Happy Birthday our BIG TWO YEAR OLD! We love you!
